This spring we were honored to host Athleta in our garden for a small gathering of women to spend some time outdoors doing yoga together. Athleta did not ask us to write this post, but we were moved by our couple of days together, and wanted to simply share more photos from the experience! Though it was a photoshoot, we actually did a full yoga session together, drove around town in Scout, and even got a sound bath from our sweet friend Sabrina Riccio who also lives here in JT.
We spent the morning before it got too hot with an intimate yoga class together. I (Sara – I’m wearing the gray), was completely in love with their yoga sets. Athleta’s yoga pants and tops accommodate all body types and offer support in all the right places.
After yoga, we got a little geeky—I showed off my rock collection of various rocks I’ve found in the area, and some paint pigments that I’ve been experimenting with making from them. I was excited that the Athleta crew was down to experience my true nerdy self.
A Drive in Scout with Athleta yoga gear
Then we packed up our beloved International Harvester Scout with all of our yoga gear, and drove over to Pioneertown Mountains Preserve. It’s a truly gorgeous area that we usually head to when we’re looking for a bit cooler weather (like in the winter if it’s raining at our house it’ll be snowing there!)
Sound Bath with Sabrina Riccio
One of my favorite moments from the whole experience was seated up on these boulders, listening to and feeling the vibrations from Sabrina’s crystal bowls as the sun set. I could absolutely do that every day and never get sick of it.
Human Connection while Living Remotely
Often when we host photoshoots or events at our house, people coming through mention to us that it must be hard to have so many people passing through our quiet and remote home. While we honestly didn’t expect to meet so many inspiring people by living remotely, the fact that that has happened only makes us love this place even more. We love the contrast of having the silence and space at home to create and be alone, but also the contrast of so many other beautiful people coming through that we get to meet. This yoga retreat with Athleta was no exception—it was a truly magical couple of days.
Thank you again to Athleta for a beautiful yoga retreat!
