Hacienda Kitchen Renovations

Usually when friends come over for dinner and drinks (now that our renovations are finished this is a much more regular occurrence), they usually ask us which part of our home is our favorite now that everything’s done. Our answer is our kitchen.

This space is truly the center of our home, open to the dining area, sunroom, and living room. Before renovations, our stove was stuck in the corner (now where the open shelf is), and made cooking feel like time-out. We had not so lovingly dubbed it “lonely kitchen”.

Our “after”, is a hand crafted and considered kitchen. Everything has a place, and we couldn’t be more in love. While the new design feels modern, it was important to us to honor the age of our 1958 homestead.

Adding the custom cabinetry by Fire on the Mesa, star and cross recycled tiles in Tusk and Antique by FireClay tile, and installing a wooden ceiling were a few details that helped honor this home’s history and Southwest location. You can see a full story on our favorite tiles over at FireClay here.
