Before we headed off to Mexico, the West Coast Craft show was happening in SF! I was so excited that we were around to go check it out, and finally see some of my favorite designers’ works in person. I actually got dizzy while we were there from turning my head too much looking at all of the incredible designs at every turn. I was completely overwhelmed at the mass amounts of things I wanted to buy.
I thought I’d share a few of my favorite designers from the show – a few new, and a few that I had previously known about!
My jaw dropped when I saw Galanter and Jones‘ heated outdoor furniture. Before even knowing that it was heated I was instantly drawn to the sleek shapes and colors of the couches and chairs. Once I sat on one and felt the warmth, I was more than sold. I would like one immediately please.
Walking further through the craft show I noticed a group of people reaching towards large fluffy weavings, and doing their best to restrain themselves from touching them as the signs requested. I can see why… Meghan Shimek‘s cloud-like weavings are incredibly soft (I felt the sample material!). I’d love to get a piece like this for my house… just looking at it makes me feel soft and cozy.
I was unable to restrain myself, and left the show with a couple of pieces from the Granite. While the shapes of their ceramics are perfectly minimal, the colors and patterns add just the right amount of quirk. I chose this one, and this one!
A fun new jewelry discovery was High/Low jewelry. I think that the material and color combinations are beautiful!
Last but not least, I was really into these cork planters by Melanie Abrantes. She said that the cork actually helps the plants stay hydrated, so not only does it looks cool it’s also functional!
Oh I am so sad I missed this! I’m putting the winter one on my calendar for sure!
