New Moon Playlist Featuring The Bones of J.R. Jones

JTH_SpotifyPlaylist-Recovered

As the days shorten and nights grow chillier, we’re entering the desert’s version of cozy season. This year we are embracing the familiarity of revisiting our old favorite trails and restaurants, but also seeing them in new ways since we now have our toddler daughter along with us.

This sweet combination of the fresh and familiar inspired us to invite an old friend of the JTH, Jonathon Robert Linaberry aka The Bones of J.R. Jones, to curate this season’s New Moon Playlist. (You may recognize J.R. from back when we interviewed him as the featured artist of our 16th New Moon Playlist.) This time around, his new album ‘Slow Lightning’ is featured, and like all of his previous music we have this one on repeat. We hope you love it as much as we do.

J.R.’s music is inspired by the “unvarnished honesty of rural American blues, folk, and gospel musicians throughout the 1930’s and ’40’s”, and the playlist he curated for us is full of fresh takes on nostalgic sounds. It’s the perfect cozy soundtrack to take us through autumn and into winter.

About the New Moon Playlist

On the New Moon, the earth, moon, and sun align making us unaware of the moon’s presence in the sky. Without the visual presence and glow of the moon, other celestial bodies typically hidden now shine brighter. Our chances of seeing the sky clearly are heightened on this day, making it a day of clarity and new beginnings. Creatively it’s the perfect time to set intentions for a new cycle of dreams and goals, and ways of manifesting them.
