A month ago on the full harvest moon, we opened our doors to JTH Tucson. We celebrated our new inn with art, music, whiskey, food, and this incredible Tucson community. We teamed up with Studio Table and Ishi Glinsky for an art inspired meal, Del Bac whiskey for local cocktails, and Camelbak to keep everyone hydrated through the evening in a sustainable way. We’re so excited to share some special moments from that evening all captured by the lovely Margaret Austin Photography.
Ishi Glinsky & Studio Table
The evening began in our shared living room at JTH Tucson where the halls became a gallery of Ishi Glinsky’s work. Studio Table described Ishi’s work perfectly:
“Ishi is a sculptor, painter and installation artist originally from Tucson and now based in Los Angeles. His works are investigations into resourcefulness, permanence or continual evolution, all dependent upon the chosen material and its considered composition. While navigating through research of historical events and ephemera of North American Native tribes, Glinsky’s work becomes a fusion of intertribal celebration and material exploration. Glinsky investigates traditional techniques of his tribe, the Tohono O’odham Nation, as well as other Nations to create contemporary homages to sacred events and practices. To collaborate with an artist with such deep roots to the land was truly incredible.”
Ishi created the artwork for evening’s menu, which doubled as a print takeaway for all of our guests.
So many of our favorite people and our local Tucson community came to support. We can’t even put into words how special it was, almost like a second wedding!
Gifts for our Guests
Our good friend and constant inspiration Jen Mussari screen printed Posada bandanas on site for everyone to bring home with illustrations that she created of local wildlife and scenery (she also previously designed our Joshua Tree bandanas!). We don’t think we’ll ever get over how cool this was! All of our guests also took home a Camelbak water bottle as the perfect hiking set to go with their bandanas.
JTH Posada Rooftop Party
After a champagne toast, we all headed up to the rooftop for Del Bac cocktails, live music by June West, food by Because the Wind, and tarot readings by Lisa Warman.
Our friends at Soukie Modern let us borrow a few rugs to turn our rooftop into a Moroccan inspired lounge for the evening. We repurposed a few pieces like our chaise lounge chairs which became a giant sectional for the evening, and our dining benches became a long coffee table.
Cocktails by Whiskey Del Bac, and Food by Because the Wind
We teamed up with our local distillery Del Bac to create four distinct cocktails throughout the evening to pair with small bites by our friend Daniel Benhaim of Because the Wind.
It was all amazingly delicious! We’re so grateful to be surrounded by so many talented friends.
June West sang her heart out on the rooftop, and made the evening extra magical. We’ve been big fans of her music for a a while, and even previously featured her on our New Moon Playlist.
So many of our favorite people joined us for this special evening under the full moon—it was a night we’ll never forget as we celebrated bringing JTH Posada to life! Thank you to everyone who made this night so special, and special thanks to Jen Mussari, Ishi Glinsky, Studio Table, Camelbak, the Del Bac Whiskey team, Margaret Austin, June West, Daniel and Amanda of Because the Wind, Kenya and Taib of Soukie Modern, Akiko of Bloom Maven, and Lisa Warman.
